The Virat Kohli led side will resume proceedings against the Kolkata Knight Riders on September 20, for their first game, and will be sporting a light blue jersey. During the Phase 1 of the IPL 2021, RCB captain Virat Kohli had suggested that the franchise will offer their support to the frontline workers during the pandemic and will sport a light blue kit, matching the colours of the PPE Kit, to honour the frontline workers in the time of the pandemic. RCB had joined hands with the Give India Foundation to provide around 100 units of oxygen concentrators to extend support in Bangalore, and other cities. Since the start of the pandemic last year, RCB’s parent company, Diageo India has manufactured and distributed 3 lakh litres of sanitisers and committed 75 Crores INR towards the programme to support the Indian hospitality sector.
RCB would like to get the UAE leg off to a winning start and take one step closer to making the playoffs. Currently, with five wins from seven games, they are placed 3rd in the points table. Kohli, who recently joined the team after India’s tour of England, has said that he is looking forward to season. “I am very excited to see them with the whole group at practice & very excited to resume a very good season that we started last time around,” he said in a video posted by RCB social media team on Monday
